process investigation

Why is Accurately documenting your process so difficult?
- When you think of an idea you might not think of the ways that it can be wrong, or when you have an idea in your head and you think it, you might not know how to describe it in words, which is very difficult. When you don't think of the ways it can be wrong, when you document it might not be so accurate.

How does your process/investigation demonstrate that science ideas can change?
- When you find new information it can go against your idea from before. Your investigation will cause you to change ideas when you find new information because the information might not fit the idea.

Why do scientists often "clean up" their process before publishing?
- There process is something that is in their head that they know exactly what they did but when they publish it, it will probably be very confusing. So they have to get rid of the minor details and just include the main ideas to allow people to see how they got their answer.

technology bellringer questions

What are some of the downsides or negative effects of tech?
-you get addicted to technology
-you rely on it for mostly everything
-you get lazy
-you are isolated from people when you use the computer
-you dont have good comunicating skills with people in person
-you don't get much excersise
-most of what you do on the computer is distracting on what you were trying to focus on.

Why do we not usually think about the negative impact of tech? Or why is criticizing tech so difficult?
-because it helps us alot
-its entertaining
-sometimes does most of the work for us
-Beacause people get so caught up in tech...that they don't realize what is wrong with tech, until way after what they did.
-because if you don't have the latest technology people think you can't afford it
-Beacause before someone could criticize tech...they have to know the problem that they are dealing with therefore making it hard to criticize tech.

Global Warming

I believe that anything containing CFC'S is one of the causes for global warming and also all of the air pollution. The CFC'S are making a hole in the ozone layer and because of that we're getting more ultra violet rays in the earth. The strong rays are one of the causes for more people getting cancer.

Yes we should be concerned because all the glaciers are melting and there are alot of droughts all over the world. Global Warming isn't just affecting humans, it's affecting the animals too and their not responsible for any of the damage that we've done to our earth.

We should try to carpool with a friend so we can atleast try to reduce a little bit of air pollution. Look for products that don't contain CFC'S. Throw your garbage away in a trash can and try to RECYCLE!! Turn off appliences, don't just leave them on standby. Get people to try to help our planet because we're the ones living on earth, and we're the ones that are destroying it. You might think oh well by the time something like that happens I'm not going to be around anymore, but think about what you're leaving behind for your kids, and their kids, and so on. We're still in time to do something about it!!

troposphere and mesosphere question

Why does the troposphere have higher pressure than the mesosphere?

Because the troposphere is near the bottom and the mesosphere is more on the top. The particles are more together on the troposphere because all of the other particles above it are squishing the troposphere particles.

Goals for my schooling

Some frustrations I have this year are that i don't really understand scientific things. Like it will take me a while to actually understand what were talking about. Also sometimes I might think i know what were talking about and then later i might forget it. To make this better I guess I could pay attention more and actually try to learn something.

Some things that I do well I think would be working with computers.

I think I need to improve on paying attention in class and stuff and trying to understand things better.

I can improve my grades and listen and participate in the class discussions.

I can try to stop daydreaming in class when i get bored. Oh yeah and try to not ask a question for every little thing. I could try to figure it out myself, even if it will take me a while.
